On August 20, 2024, a group of performance artists set off from Tübingen, Germany to Venice, Italy on a 10-day bike tour through Germany, Austria and Italy.
The touring performance will address the topic of being “foreign” through performances, actions and rituals. Artists from Thailand, Germany and Italy will explore the many facets of “foreignness” and how this can be an opportunity for mutual enrichment. Details: The group of performance artists includes: Prof. Padungsak Kochsonmrong (Toi) from Thailand Paul Siemt and Monika Weber and Andreas Hoffmann from Germany Antonio Irre from Italy.

Each stop on the tour will leave its mark on the places and artists involved, creating artistic traces through organized and spontaneous performances. All the actions will be documented and broadcast live on YouTube (www.youtube.com/@wearestrangers-w6i) and on the Facebook page We Are Strangers.
The tour will arrive in Veneto on Wednesday 28th at 7:30 pm at Villa Albrizzi Marini, San Zenone degli Ezzelini, and will culminate in a final performance on Thursday 29th at 7:30 pm at the Bright Home Gallery in Murano, Venice.
The performers will perform a daily ritual using earth, bringing with them a soil sample from their hometown and mixing it with that of the places they pass through. This symbolic gesture underlines the idea of overcoming borders and embracing diversity. The performances will also explore the various “faces” of being foreigners, collecting testimonies and stories from the people they met during the journey.
The appointments at Villa Albrizzi Marini and at the Bright Home Gallery in Murano are free to enter. See you there!
